Tonhalle concert hall
Founded in 1868, the Tonhalle Orchestra is Switzerland’s oldest symphony orchestra. In recent years, it has grown to become one of Europe’s leading ensembles.
The concert hall, the Tonhalle, is regarded as one of the best in the world. Every season, 100 or so highly motivated musicians and a committed conductor present to Zürich audiences some 100 concerts featuring around 50 varied programmes.
Zürich Chamber Orchestra
Founded by Edmond de Stoutz and managed by him for over half a century, the Zürich Chamber Orchestra is one of the leading ensembles of its kind.
Regular invitations to international festivals, performances in Europe’s major music centres, extended concert tours through various European countries as well as the United States and China, and numerous CDs praised by the specialist press bear witness to the outstanding worldwide reputation enjoyed by the Zürich Chamber Orchestra.
